| Ursula A. Johnson is a Mi’kmaq Artist and Alumni from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Her conceptual works combine images and elements from a multitude of sources that explore and challenge ideas of ancestry, identity and culture. Starting at 7pm, Johnson will be parading throughout the city of Halifax (see map below for parade route), wearing a handcrafted headpiece, distributing invitations for an event she will hosting downtown, where a selected participant may be eligible for a cash prize. The event will take place at Grand Parade at 9pm. Elmiet, by Ursula A. Johnson is a free public performance, presented by Prismatic as part of Nocturne. |
